Frequently Asked Questions

Where should a beginner start on Liquid Learn?

Start with The Beginner’s Guide to Trading, then read 4 Things Every Beginner Perp Trader Should Know and What Is a Stop Loss. Those three cover what a perp is, how much to risk, and how to cap a losing trade — the mechanics everything else builds on.

What is a perpetual future?

A perpetual future, or perp, is a contract that tracks an asset’s price and lets you go long or short without owning the asset. It never expires, so you can hold it as long as you keep enough margin, and a funding rate keeps its price anchored to the underlying.

Can I practice before trading with real money?

Yes. Paper trading gives you simulated funds on live markets, so you can rehearse opening a position, setting a stop loss, and closing out at no risk. It is available through Co-Invest.

Do I need to understand leverage before I trade?

Yes — leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, and a position can be closed automatically if margin runs out. Read What Is Liquidation and Cross vs Isolated Margin before sizing a leveraged trade, and start at low multipliers.

Are these guides free?

Yes. Every Liquid Learn guide is free to read, with no account required. You only need an account when you want to place a trade.

Is Liquid affiliated with Liquid Brokers, liquidmarkets.org, or the former Liquid exchange?

No. Liquid is an independent trading platform at liquid.trade, with its trading app at app.liquid.trade. It is not affiliated with Liquid Brokers, with the firm at liquidmarkets.org, or with the former Liquid exchange (previously known as Quoine), which is no longer in operation. The only official Liquid domains are liquid.trade and its subdomains.
